Welding is a method of repairing or creating metal structures by joining the pieces of metals or plastic through various fusion processes. The art of joining metals is about

3000 years old. Generally, heat is used to weld the materials. Welding equipments can utilize open flames, electric arc            or laser light. Some major types of welding processes are given below, which are successfully used in the world.

  • Arc Welding (AW) – Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Submerged Arc Welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding etc,
  • Gas Welding (GW) – Oxy – acetylene welding, Oxy – hydrogen welding, Oxy – coal gas welding etc.
  • Resistance Welding (RW) – Spot welding. Seam welding. Butt welding. Flash butt welding. Projection welding
  • Solid State Welding (SSW) – Friction welding
  • Thermo Chemical Welding (TCW) – Thermit welding
  • Radiant Energy Welding (REW) – Laser welding
